Camping – Instagrams
I had the chance to really put the Instagram (iPod Touch/iPhone) app to the test this weekend on a camping trip. I have to save that if I didn’t love this app before, I do now. The filters are great and being able to import photos from other applications is a huge win in my book.
Client Management Plugin
I’m undertaking the development of a Client Management plugin for WordPress. This is a personal project that should help in keeping track of clients, projects, price quotes, payments and invoices. All this will of course be housed on a personal server to keep sensitive data safe.
A Happy Accident
Even breaking a lens can have a positive side to it. For me it was the re-introduction of playing around with my Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens. I’ve overlooked it for too long.
Re-coding Some Plugins
I wasn’t happy with two of the plugins that I developed to manage a few things on this website. I had plans to revamp both of them but wasn’t sure exactly what to do with them. Since they were pretty similar and lacking some well needed features, I went ahead and re-coded them from the ground up.
WordPress XML Client Update
An XML Client Update plugin for WordPress. This plugin allows me to keep in touch with my clients or anyone using my custom themes, plugins and/or widgets via their WordPress dashboard. The only solution I could think of to notify people of updates without submitting the theme, plugin or widget to the appropriate Official WordPress directory.
Project Photo
Project Photo was a website that I’ve been maintaining for a number of years to house my own personal photography projects. Originally hand coded in PHP and MySQL the conversion to run on WordPress was a great tool and learning experience.
Point Beach State Park
In 2008 a my wife and I went camping with some great friends at Point Beach State Park in Wisconsin. With the wonderful scenery and catching an early sunrise I just couldn’t pass up showing a few images from that weekend.
Urban Landscape
In September 2008 I took a photography class called “Urban Landscape”. As part of that class we took a field trip to Milwaukee for a morning filled with walking, great conversations and a lot of pictures.
